"UNDOUBTEDLY ABOAKD." By Cable. —Press Association.—Oopyrighit Ottawa, July 28. The Montreal Star has received a wireless message from the Montrose stating that Crippen is undoubtedly aboard. AWAITING THE MONTROSE. New York, July 28. Pressmen from all parts of the world have assembled at Rimouski waiting for the arrival of the Montrose. The Laurentic has passed Belle Isle. NOT KNOWN BY LAURENTIC. PROBABLY ONi MONTROSE. Received July 20, 10.15 p.m. London, July 20. The captain of the Laurentic ethergraphed to the Daily Telegraph: "Sorry. Know nothing of either Crippen or Le Neve."
Reuter's New York agent reports that the Montrose's Marconi operator ethergraphed! that suspects answering to the description of Crippen and Le Neve were aboard but were not arrested. The otlier passengers were ignorant of the situation. He added that further information was. forbidden. MONTROSE IN PORT TO-DAY. CAPTAIN IN COMMUNICATION. Received l July 30, 0.5 a.m. Ottawa, July 28. •The Monlrose will arrive at Father Point, Quebec, on Saturday afternoon. The provincial authorities have been instructed to effect arrests In order to avoid! public complications. The captain of the Montrose ethergraphed to the Canadian Government to say the identification of Crippen and Le Neve was established beyond all doubt. They were incontrovertibly aboard. He asked that instructions be sent from Father Point.
The Laurentic established wireless communication with the Montrose on Monday, and Detective-Inspector Drew assured himself that 'both are aboard her. The police have fixed the date on wihich Mrs. Crippen was so foully murdered at Hilldorp crescent. Camden road, as January 31. On the evening of that diay 'the Crippens entertained a. few friends, who left the house belore midnight. Next day the Vaudeville Artists' Guild, of which Mrs. Crippen, under her professional name of Belle Elmore, was treasurer, received .a> let- ( ter "signed "Belle Ellmore," in which the writer explained that she had gone to America on business. The miss-spell-ing of tihe name was noticed at the time, but now, of course, it has become more significant, and the Guild authorities are chagrined at having missed the opportunity they might have had to get Hawley Crippen arrested.
