GERMAN BANK FAILS.
OBLIGATIONS £3,000,000. By Cable. —Press Association.—Copyright Received July 20, 0.30 a.m. Berlin, July 28. The Niederdeutsche Bank at Clortmund ha® failed, and Herr Ohm, the director, has been arrested at the public prosecutor's instance. The Daily Telegraph states that tlie bank's obligations total three millions sterling. The Daily News says the failure is largely attributed ( to improper speculation on American markets. Other banks We unable to extricate the bank, but are endeavoring to assist the smaller creditors, especially the depositors, who are mostly' miners and 'others workers. The capital is £60,000 and the deposits £441,000, but the assets are not ascertainable.
