ERUPTION AT WAIMANGU
JtGCKS BEING HURLED SKY HIGH. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Auckland, Yesterday. The Star correspondent at Rotorua telegraphs that the original crater at, Waiman'gu geyser is sealed, but a new crater has formed on Frying Pan Flat, over which tourists have been conducted for the past six years. •On Sunday evening the whole plain, known as Fryin™ Pan Flat, blew up. Rocks and rubble of quite considerable dimensions were thrown akv high. The eruption will alter the geography of the district. It is impossible to fore-, the ultimate scope of tihe outbreak. The proximity of the mixtion to Tlvrawera, after a silence of nix years, lias some significance, and causes uneasiness.
