STRIKERS WITHOUT FUNDS. By Cable.—Press Association.—Copyright Madrid, July 25. The strikers at Bilbao have no funds. The troops are massed and the employers decline to discuss terms. PASSENGER TRAIN DERAILED. Received July 26, 9.35 p.m. Ottawa, July 26. A passenger train was derailed at Durham, Quebec, and five were injured. An enquiry into the cause of the accident is proceeding. THE GRAND TRUNK COMPANY WILL FIGHT. Received July 26, 10.30 p.m. Ottawa. July 26. Mr. Hay's refusal to submit the railway dispute to arbitration is on the ground that the offer is too late. He indicates that the Grand Trunk Railroad Company intends to fight to the end. The president of the Trainmen's Union declares that the unioil will support the men and the company will be the loser. Meanwhile the freight service is gradually resuming, and shops at Montreal, London, and Ottawa have reopened. ENGLISH RAILWAY STRIKE. Received July 26. 10.30 p.m. London, July The North British Railway men are agitating as to whether they shall repudiate the Conciliation Board. They allege that concerted action on the part of the companies renders the board ineffective. PERTH TRAM STRIKE. Received July 27, 0.20 a.m. Perth, Last Night. The tram strike, continues. ' An effort at mediation failed.
