THE XGAMOTU CLUB. The Ngamotu men's championship and junior competition were commenced on Saturday, when the first rounds were played in unfavorable weather conditions, a strong wind blowing across the links. The various matches resulted as follows: , Championship. F. S. Johns beat L. ■Hansen 3 up and 2 to play, C. Gray won from V. Elliott by default, H. B. Armitage won from A. H. Glasgow by default. Junior Competition. —K. Matthews beat the Rev. F. G. Evans 6 up and 4, E. Bary beat H. W. Stow 4 up and 2. Freeman ibeat D. Hutchen 3 up and 2, H. Eraser beat F. J. Easther 2 up and 1, J. Haslam beat C. H. Weston 2 up and 1, G. Grey beat C. A. Ben'bow 8 up and G, S. Burgess won from the Rev. J. G. Chapman by default, A. Standish a bye.
