Wellington, .Monday. Following is the High Commissioner's report, dated London, July 23: The mutton market is dud with scaircely any demand. Average price today. Canterbury 3Vsd, North Island 3%d. . the lamb market is weak. Shipments arriving are very heavy and buyers are not inclined to make foi-ward purchases at present prices. There is ail inclination to force sales. Average price: Canterbury 4%d, other than Canterbury 4%d.

The beef market, is quiet. Shipments from River Plate are heavy, but there are signs of improvement in the market. New Zealand hinds fores 2 1 / ad. The butter market is steady with good local demand for best quality. Choicest New Zealand to-day is 110s (New Zealand is in small supply), Danish 114s, Siberian 100s, Australian 104s.

The cheese market is firm with better demand and the market is advanced owing to advices from Canada. White New Zealand (old) 575, Canadian (new) 555, coloured New Zealand (old) 555, coloured Canadian (new) 535. (The hemp market has not much changed. The tendency is slightly in favour of buyers, but the market is very uncertain. The output, from Manila for the week was 21,000 bales. The wool market is firm with a hardening tendency.
