Enormous damage has been caused ky a hurricane, accompanied by lightning and torrents' of rain, in Western and Southern Germany, especially at Nuremberg, Cologne, Essen and Bon:i. Rome. July !44* A devastating storm occurred m the district round Milan. A brick factory at Golario, in the commune of Cariano, Laghetto, collapsed, and 14' men were killed and 20 injured. Several chimneys at Busharsizio, "20 miles from Milan, fell, killing ten persons. There weft fifteen victims at Mosciano, three at Garouno, and other fatalities in the Gallarate district. The prefect, with troops and. firemen, has gone to the chief centres of the disaster. Details are wanting as the wires are down. A Cyclone in the Sarronno region killed fifty anl injured hundreds. It ajso damaged the Humbert Memorial Chapel at Monza. Many factory chimneys fell. THE HARVEST SPOILT. Received July 25, 11.20 p.m. Berlin, July 25. Storms spoilt the harvest in many places, and devastated the park of JVolfsbrum Castle in Brunswick. The roof of the castle was also destroyed.
