REGISTRATION OF BARMAIDS BILL.

Under Mr. Ell's (Registration of Bar- [ maids Bill, every person who, for not less than three" months during the twelve months immediately preceding the passing of this measure, has been employed as a barmaid in aiiy licensed premises, shall be entitled, on application made on or before May 31, 1011, to the clerk of the Licensing Committee of tht licensing district in which she men resides or is employed, to be entered on the register of barmaids for that district, Every person who claims to be entitled to be registered, and is not so registered, may apply in person to the Licensing Committee of the licensing district in which she then resides or is employed, at the annual meeting in the year 1911; and if the committee is satisfied that she is entitled to be registered, it may direct that her name be entered in the register. Any person who is register ia as°a barmaid in any licensing district may at any time apply to the clerk of anv other licensing -.lis-'trict to be registered in that district. Every licensee who, after June 30, 1911, employs or suffers any female (other than his wife or daughter) to sell, supply or serve liquor in any bar in his licensed premises, unless'she is the holder of a certificate of registration, is liable to a fine not exceeding five pounds for the first offence, and to a fine not exceeding] twenty pounds for any subsequent of-: fence. . Every female who, not being either the wife or daughter of the licensee, or the holder of a certificate of registration, sells, supplies, or serves any fiquor in a bar in any licensed premises is liable to a fine not exceeding two pounds for the fust ef/encp, and to a fine not exceeding five pounds for any subsequent offence. Every person is name to, a fine not exceeding ten pounds who—- («) By fraud or misrepresentation obtains or attempts to obtain a duplicate of anv certificate of registration as a barmaid; or (b) forges or falsifies any entry in any register of barmaids or any certificate of registration's a barmaid; or (c) falsely represents herself to be registered as a barmaid or' to be any person who is so registered.
