RIDDLES.
What bums to keep a secret ?—Seal-ing-wax. Why <lo little birds in their nests agree? —For fear of falling out. . What is a button?—A small event that is always coming off. ■
What color are wind and waves in a storm?— The winds blew (blue) and the waves rose.
Why are stout men prone to melancholy?— Because they are men of size (sighs). What has only one foot?—A leg. What is that which is often found where it is not?^-Fault.
Why is a beggar like an attorney?— Because he is a solicitor.
What is book-keeping?— Forgetting to return borrowed volumes.
What is that which you cannot hold ten minutes although it is as light as a feather?— Our breath. How do we know Rome was built in the night ?—Because historians tell us Rome wasn't built in a day.
