RECREATION SPORTS GROUND

At the last mrfling of the Recreation Sports Ground Committee there were present: Messrs. A. L. Humphries (chairman), H. Ford, W. Perham, R. IT. George, H. Stocker, J. Clarke, and G. Griffiths' With regard to the Piikekura Park Board's letter re control, the following resolution was passed:—"That this committee regrets the incident in connection with the extra charge made by the Besses o' th' Barn for admission to 4he, terraces in the sports ground, and notes J that the Pukekura Park Board has *et up an. emergency committee to deal witn. the applications under clause 16 of the lease under which, the grounds are he'd. This committee, however, does not admit any obligation under such clause to apply for the Board's consent before subletting the grounds or any part thereof to a third party." A resolution was passed approving of the New Plymouth Borough Council's proposed Bill for letting as building sites the vacant reserves on Avenue road.

It was decided to close the sports ground for all football matches except representative ones, to enable the committee to take action with regard to altering the cricket pitch.
