INGLEWOOD NEWS
(From Our Own Correspondent.) The "house-warming" of the Presbyterian manse on Tuesday evening was a pronounced success. There was a large attendance, and an enjoyable evening was spent. Several vocal and instrumental dtems were rendered, a comic song by tie Rev. Albeit being particularly appreciated. The following are the amounts of the pay of the various dairy companies for the month:—Moa £599 lis Bd, Tariki £97 10s Bd, Lepperton £B7 19s Od, Waitui £OB 6s 2d. The Maketawa Factory is at present dosed for repairs. The Tarata Factory is also dosed for the winter months. I'urt of the most satisfactory bonuses paid out by the Mangorei Company comes into Inglewood, and is very acceptable at a time when money is, to o certain extent, scarce, owing to the falling-off of the milk supply.
The school social held in the Parish Hall last night was a signal success. There was a large attendance, the floor being almost too crowded for comfortable dancing. Mr. H. Cottier and his family supplied excellent music gratis, for which they deserve the thanks of all present. Mr. 11. A. Stratford made an efficient M.C.
A meeting : >> .-onneetion with the British and Fc"i:jrn Bible Society was held in the W.-Vyan Church o a Thursday. The Tier. V. H. Spencer gave a most able address on the work, etc., of the society. A local branch was formed, and Miss Boniface was appointed secretin'.
An Tnglewood infant obtained the blue ribbon at the V-bv show. The successful candidate v : . s the child of Mr. and Mrs. H. Egarr, ..r/ Midliirst, formerly of Inglewood.
