SUMMARY AND FORECAST. j By Telegraph.—Press Association. ( Wellington, Last Night. Following is the Rev. D. C. Bates' ■weather summary and forecast: Southerly and westerly winds have prevailed, with a gale on Monday night in Ffffeaux strait. Rain has fallen on the West Coast and southern districts of the South Island, and the weather lhas l>een generally cold and changeable. Present indications are for a falling barometer in the north, and more hazy and cloudy skies, preceding a rapid change in the weather from a storm area now advancing across the Tasman sea. Northerly and easterly winds, ctrong to a gale, are probable oyer the Nortih Island, and strong south-easter-lies in the South.
