COTTON PEOPLE AGREE. By Cable.—Press Association— Copyright Received July 17, 5.5 p.m. London, June I*>. The conference of the Lancashire master cotton-spinners and operatives averted a strike. It was agreed that the demands for a five per centum wages reduction be withdrawn, provided that neither side attempts to alter the present scale of wages during the next five years.
