THE AMERICAN TEAM. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, Friday. The American Universities football team arrived from Sydney to-day, and will be given an official welcome this afternoon. The first match, will be played here to-morrow.

The following team will represent the Maoris against Otago to-morrow:—Full-back, A. Toanangii (Auckland); threequarters, C. Ryland (Poverty Bay), M. Winiata (Horowhenua), G. Rogers (Rotorua); five-eighths, W. Stead (Southland), and A. Kaipara (Poverty Bay); half, S. M. Piki (Canterbury); wing forward, J. Hall (Auckland); forwards. C. Tipene (Otago). G. Sellarß (Auckland). W. Cunningham (Auckland), A. Takarangi (Wanganui), W. Winiata (Horowhenua), Moana Paratone (Poverty Bay) and J. Martin (Taranaki). ARRIVAL OF THE AMERICANS.
Wellington, Last Night. The California!) Universities football team arrived in Wellington by the Warrimoo from Sydney to-day. Over two thousand persons attended the reception at the Town Hall this afternoon. Following is the Americans' team against Wellington to-morrow:—Full-back, Brown; three-quarters, Dwiggins, Harris and Ken; five-eighths, Allen and Elliott; half, <Vrf; forwards, Pauley, Mrnturn. Bonne'.t, Hardy, Dole, Phleger, Ceda and Loavitt.
A Palmerston wire states that the Maoris play Maimvntu and Horowhenua on Saturday, instead of Wednesday; and play Wellington on Wednesday.
