ANTARCTIC EXPLORATION.

GERMAN AND BRITISH COMMANDERS CONFER. By Cable.—Press Association.—Copyright London, July 12. Bringing with him the best wishes of the Berlin Geographical Society, Lieutenant Filchner, who heads the German expedition to the Antarctic, discussed nis plans with Captain Scott. The latter, interviewed afterwards, said: "There will be no rivalry if Lieutenant Filchner does not visit the Ross Sea area, and he is likely to meet us only in the event of our staying a second season. In that case there will probably be an Interchange of personnel, some members of each expedition crossing the Pole."
