WHEAT AFLOAT. By Cable.—Press Association—Copyright London, July 11. The quantity of wheat and £«ur afloat for the United Kingdom is 2,670,000 quarters for the Continent, 1,040,000 quarters. Atlantic shipments 102,000 quarters. Pacific 15,000 quarters, total shipments to Europe this week 925,000 quarters, including 52,000 quarters from the Argentine, 510,000 quarters from India, and 15,000 quariers from Australasia.
THE SHARE MARKET. London, July 11. Waihi shares, buvers 158s yd, sellers 161s 3d; Junction 41s 3d, and 42s 6d. TARANAKI WOOL; SKIX, HIDE AND TALLOW SALE. MR. NEWTON KING'S REPORT. On Tuesday, July 5, I held my usual four-weekly sale of above produce. The catalogue comprised 8 bales and 58 sacks of woo!, 2439 sheepskins. 22 casks and 03 tins tallow, 1324- hides. 284 calfskins, besides the usual assortment of horns, hair, cowtails, etc.
Wool —That which was offered was mostly crutchings, and it met with good competition. Crutchings sold up to (id per lb, the market showing a rise of from y 4 d to y 2 d. Skins sold well at an advance of y 4 d per lb. Hides—Ox, oft a par with last sale. Cow, best lines, well !l:iycd and good conditioned, y 4 d lower. Ordinary lines (particularly in heavies) were in most cases y»d lower, mediums selling slightly better. Damaged and slippy butchers'hides met with poor competition, being up to one penny lower, whilst farmers' damaged and slippy were in little demand and hard of sale. Calf—Very few yet offering, with prices lightly lower. Damaged and slippy were hard to quit, with prices very l«w. Tallow—Best, 10s lower; inferior 20s; lower.
