ORANGEMEN PROTEST. By Cable. —Press Association.—Copyright Received July 11, 12.35 a.m. Sydney, July 10. At the Orange demonstration speakers vigorously protested against the alteration of the King's Declaration Oath, which they claimed was intended to effectively test the King as to religion. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Ohristchurch, Last Night. The customary procession of members of the Orange Lodges in celebration of the Twelfth of July was held this afternoon, and was attended by two hundred in regalia. At the Opera House after-' wards there was a fairly large attendance of the public, when the following i motion was unanimously agreed to: — ( "That this meeting, representative of the Orange Lodges of this city and suburbs, with the congregation now assembled, emphatically protests against anj' alteration of the Accession Oath, believing, in the light of the past his-1 tory of our nation, t'hat to tamper with what has been our safeguard against the return of the temporal power of the Papacy would be decidedly contrary to the principles and security of the Throne of Great Britain."
