GERMANY IN THE PACIFIC.
EXPANSION IN AFRICA AND AUSTRALASIA. By Cable.—Press Association.—Copyright Berlin, July 8. The Vossische Zeituung, commenting on Captain Mahan's article on the British and German navies, declares that Germany's colonial expansion is in Africa and Australasia. It is impossible to choose America for this purpose. Furthermore, if Germany is invited to do so, she will be ready to give formal and binding recognition of the Monroe doctrine. It is understood that the mention of Australasia means the German possessions in the Pacific.
