OUR TRADE WITH CANADA.
CAPABLE OF DEVELOPMENT. By Cable.—Press Association.—Copyright Received July 10, 5.5 p.m. Brisbane, Last Night. By the Manuka arrived Mr. Beddoe, Canada's Trade Commissioner to New Zealand. Interviewed, he said he hoped to extend the relations between the two countries. He was convinced that a large trade could be developed, especially in frozen mutton. Canada was extremely anxious to promote such relations. He did not regard the drought in Canada as very serious, as it would only affect a portion of the country. He spoke hopefully of the prospects of the new steamer service from Montreal to New Zealand. Mr. Beddoe'strongly favors trans-Conti-nental railways.
