AUSTRALIAN SUGAR INDUSTRY. Melbourne, July 8. Official statistics show a considerable falling off in sugar production, 214,242 tons were produced in 1907, against 161,253 tons last year. While exports fell from 11,077 tons to 205 tons, imports increased from 6167 tons to 99,698 tons. AUSTRALIAN POLITICS. Sydney, July 8. In the Assembly, the Premier was asked if he intended to take action regarding the brock combine.
