The Rosamond arrived early yesterday morning' from Wellington and Nelson with 142 tons of cargo, including 1240 bags of salt,. 104 sacks of potatoes, 80 sacks of phosphates, and 115 cases of fruit. She got away for Onehunga about 4.30 p.m.

THE TAKAPUNA. The Takapuiia brought 110 tons of cargo from Onehunga yesterday morning, including 170 bags of manure, 130 bags of lime, 229 bags of cement, 1103 bags of sugar and 242 cases of fruit. THE RIMU. The Rimu, which was detained at Onehunga by bad weather, crossed the bar at 9.20 a.m. yesterday for Kawhia, New Plymouth and Wanganui. She should arrive here to-day, leaving for the South shortly after arrival. It is announced that the steamer Earl of Carrick (3939 tons gross, 2550 tons net), has been chartered to load case oil for the four principal New Zealand ports. Tenders have been invited by the Allan Line for the construction of two. highspeed passenger, steamers of over 20,000 tons gross each, to be fitted with turbine engines. The Teasels are to trade between Liverpool and; the St. Lawrence. The Cunard Company have contracted for the construction bf a sister ship to the Franconia, of 18,000 tons.
