NORTH TARANAKI HUNT
The North Taranaki Hunt Club's meet yesterday afternoon was a most successful one, in spite of the wretched weather. The huntsmen assembled at "Mangaoraka," Mr. Gus Sole's property, near Bell Block, and hunted oyer his farm, Mrs. McGuinnessj, Mr. French's, and other neighboring owners'. A really gbod day's sport was enjoyed, although the ground was heavy and slippery as the result of recent heavy rains. In the face of this. the jumping was splendid, only a few falls occurring, and none of them serious. There were several fine runs, and one resulted in a kill. The hounds never worked better. Mrs. Sole entertained the hunt at afternoon tea. At the comelusion of the hunt Mr. Halcombe, the master, thanked the property-owners for having placed their properties at the disposal of the club, and Mrs. Sole for her hospitality. He also announced that owing to the huntsman, Mr. A. Cliff, having four of the hounds away at the Napier show, there would be no meet next Thursdav. The toy-meet will be held on Saturday week on Mr. P. J. Morris' farm at Oakura.
