I LONDON PRODUCE REPORT. Messrs E. Griffiths and Co., New Plymouth, are in receipt of the following market report, dated- May 27, 1910: The weather has been rather changeable, but on the whole is fairly favorable. Danish: The quotation is unchanged, and a slightly better feeling .prevails. Siberian: Arrivals are small this week and everything is well cleared.,, French: A reduction is announced for Monday next of 6d per dozen on fresh rolls and 4s per cwt. on fresh baskets, ! and this should have the effect of bringing buyers on to this description, the quality of which is now very good. No I further change is announced at the moment on salt; which was reduced at the commencement of this week. Australian: The butters per Marmora came to hand this week in good order, and the quality, generally speaking, shows an improvement over recent arrivals, and there has been a fairly good demand for all butters that can.be class* ed as finest, but there is still difficulty in clearing those that are not up to this standard. I New Zealand; The Rimutaka butters |met with an excellent demand, and the quality is in every way satisfactory. Buyers are taking the usual brands. | . Argentine: Trade has been rather better than last week, and the quality being fairly good the butters have sold well.. Cheese.—There has been an improved , demand, and although prices are hardly any better at the moment, we should not be surprised to see white cheese i make another shilling very shortly. I WEBSTER BROS.' REPORT. Poultry, .etc.—On Saturday we had a very large entry of poultry and competition was keen throughout the sale. Hens (old) made is 4d to Is 6d, young do. is 8d to 2s, laying hens 3s to 3s 3d, pullets (young) Is 9d to 2s, good forward pullets 2s 4d to 3s, cockerels Is 8d to 2s, good fat do. 2s 3d to 3s, p.b. white Leghorn cockerels 4s 9d, ducks 2s to 2s 4d, , p.b. Rouen ducks 3s to 3s Gd, turkey j hens 3s 6d ,to 4s 3d, gobblers 4s 9d to , Gs. Fruit trees and shruhs sold readily. ' Lisbon lemons made 3s 2d. i Meat.—A larger quantity than usual came forward and found a ready sale. Roasts beef 2%d to 3d, rounds 3d to 3y 2 d, sirloin ,3<l to 4y>d, ribs 2y 3 d to 4d, , corning pieces 2:1 to 2>/,d, fore-quarters mutton 3d to 3y B d, legs 4d to 4y»d, loins 3d t<s 3y,d. ' ■ I Fruit—A heavy shipment of over 500 ' cases of Rarotonga oranges arid bananas arrived on Monday, and; owing to the bare state of the market, found a ready sale. The bananas were of excellent quality and high prices ruled. Apples, colored dessert 7s 0d to Bs, Sturmer firsts 7s 6(1, seconds 4s 3d to 4s Gd, cookers ! 5s to 5s Gd, mandarins 10s, .passions 9s, pines lis, lemons 3s fid, oranges 7s to 7s 6d, 13s, prime ripe fruit 3d per lb, walnuts Gd, peanuts 2%d.
