SUMMARY AND FORECAST. By Telegraph. —Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. Following is the Rev. D. C. Bates' summary and forecast: —A westerly area of, low pressure has enveloped the whole country with cloudy and unsettled 1 weather. Strong westerly winds have prevailed. (Rain has fallen in several ' ' parts, and especially on the west coast and the southernmost districts. Present indications are for a temporary rise in the hiarometer pressure southward of New ,(Plymouth and Napier, with moderate to strong southerly winds and cool and showery weather. The barometer "■ ■will probably fall elsewhere, with strong ■ westerly winds and cloudy and change- ' able weather. The barometer will probacy fall again shortly everywhere, and -: • rain follow generally.
