In the Legislative Assembly, Mr.'Verran outlined the Government policy, which includes adult suffrage for Legislative Couhcil elections, progressive land tax, compulsory repurchase of land, closer settlement, factory and workmen's compensation bills, the establishment of high schoolfe, and a bill to enable the Government to make advances to workers to build themselves homes.

The public works proposed include railway extension and the erection of two locks on the Murravi river.

The Premier hopes the Federal Parliament will accept the Northern Territory Transfer Bill, as the only alternative will be to repudiate it altogether.
