Owina; to disclosures by the Vatican authorities Duprav de la Maherie, aa octogenarian, is being prosecuted in Paris for swindling. He obtained large sums from devout Catholics ostensibly for charities by showing pseiulo holy relics. and pretending to "enjoy the confidence of the Vatican. Police records show that he was convicted of swindling in 1006.
