THE WEATHER.
SUMMARY AND FORECAST. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. The following is the Rev. D. C. Bates' summary and forecast: —The barometer has risen steadily in the north and fallen in the south, with freshening westerlies in the north and northerly' winds in the south. The weather has been unsettled and hazy, with rain in parts. Present indications are for a westerly gale in most parts of the country, and rough weather on the west coast, and in Cook and Foveaux iStraits especially. Rain is probable generally from a storm area which is likely to envelope the whole country shortly. Heavy seas are to be expected on the west coast.
