By Telegraph—Press Association. Wellington, Monday. 'Following is the High Commissioner's report under date London, July 2:— > The mutton market is slightly weaker, with less demand. Canterbury today is quoted at 3%d, North Island 3y a d. The lamb market is weaker, with a tendency downwards. In anticipation of large shipments arriving buyers are not inclined to make forward purchases. Lamb present prices: Canterbury today 5%d, other than Canterbury o^d. The beef market is dull, and supplies increasing. New Zealand hinds 3%d, fores 3y s d. The butter market is steady and prices well maintained; for best quality choicest New Zealand 109s. The cheese market is steady and there is a demand for better grades. White 57s Gd, coloured 555.
The henip market is lifeless. Good fair on spot £24 ss, fair grade £22' 10s, fair current Manila £2l 10s. Forward shipment good fair £24, fair grade £22, fair current Manila £2l. The output of Manila for the week was 29,000 bales! The kauri gum market as quiet but steady. ' Ordinary fair three-quarter-scraped 170s, fair half-scraped 102s 6d, brown fair half to three-quarter-scraped 90s, brown pickings common to good j 455, bush fair to good pale and amberscraped 170s. The wheat' market is weak, and inactive. New Zealand long-berried wheat on spot ex-granary per quarter (496 lb) 32s 6d, New Zealand short ditto 31s 6d. The oats market is flat with scarcely | ariy demand. New Zealand short sparvowbills ex-granary spot per quarter.
