He*rr Thalmessinger, a German banker, went into a wood on the outskirts of Hamburg, and, his wife consenting, he shot her and then suicided. He was unable to meet liabilities to London brokers amounting! to £25,000. POISON AND STRANGULATION. Received July 5, 12.45 a.m. Melbourne, July 5. Margaret Carton, who beat an eleven years old child to death with a broom handle, died from the effects of poison and strangulation.
