At the halt-yearly meeting of the Kauri Timber Company the report was read stating that the business was well maintained, and that sales show an improvement over the corresponding haltyear. CHINAMAN'S FATAL JUMP FOR LIFE. Melbourne, July 1. A Chinaman had escape cut oft' in a burning three-story furniture factory in Little Lonsdale-street, and jumped from a second-story window. He fell half in and half out'of a blanket held to catch him, struck the pavement, and died of his injuries. VIOLATION OF ANTI-TRUST LAW. Melbourne, July 1. It is probable that the actions against the coal vend and shipowners ' for breaches of the Anti-Trust Law will be heard in September.
VICTORIAN REVENUE.
Melbourne, July 1. The State revenue for the year is £8,503,167; an increase over last year of £307,790.
AUSTRALIAN WOOL EXPORi. Sydney, July 1. During the year ended yesterday 1,033,897 bales of wool were exported. The State increase is 60,700 over the •previous year. NEW .SOUTH WALES REVENUE. Sydney,,. July 1. The State revenue for the year is £14,540,055, an increase of £914,000 compared with the preceding year. DIAMOND ROBBERY. > • Sydney, July 1. Advices have been received from Vancouver ' reporting a diamond robbery from a passenger aboard the Marama. It is believed the theft was committed prior to the vessel leaving Sydney.
