Mr. H. Pearce was re-elected chairman of the Christchurcb Tramway Board yesterday. The death is reported of Dr. Goe, exBishop of Melbourne, suddenly, from heart failure. A presentation will be made to Mr, Sam Hill at the White Hart Hotel this evening at 8 o'clock. Mr. George Boyle, of Sydney, has been, ippointed Professor of the Piano at the" I'eabody Conservatory, Baltimore. Captain Mace, Father O'Meara, Mr. and Mrs. W. F.
