SUMMARY- AM) FORECAST. By Telegraph.—Press Association. 1 ' Wellington, Last Night. ' Following is the Rev. D. C. Bates' t -weather summary and forecast: The ; winds have moderated everywhere, and the weather has improved to-day. Heavy rain fell in the North Island on Wednesday night, but frosts were experienced in the South. Present indications are somewhat ominous, as a cyclon,"lc' disturbance seems to be developing in !'the far north, and threatens heavy rains I, for the North Island and northern parts of the South Island, with high nortb: erly and easterly winds. Floods will probably follow rain, aad stormy weather is also probable in the south, and A falling barometer everywhere.
STORM WARNINGS SENT OUT. \ ; Wellington, Last Night. * Referring to the Sydney' cable about the weather, the Rev. D. C. Bates says "■» ibis is evidently the tail of a cyclonic disturbance, and the head may be ex- ~ pected shortly to touch New Zealand. Northerly gales may be expected soon hi the north of New Zealand, and the I • centre of the storm, will probably strike ' Cook Stra.its.
