Arthur Ellis—a Bond Street dealer, against whom both civil and criminal proceedings Were taken on account'of certain china, alleged to have been sold bv ham at high prices, by means of false representation, to-', the late Charles •Dickens, an octogennrian collector appealed to the Court of Criminal Appeal against his conviction for fraudulent misrepresentation. The Court ouashed the conviction, and he has now been acquitted on a final indictment for defrauding the late Charles Dickens.
