DEATH FROM BURNS. By Telegraph—Press Association. Gisborne, Tuesday. A native child, aged five years, died at Tokomaru Bay as the result of its clothes catching fire when getting into bed. ° ° TELEGRAPH MESSENGER RUN OVER. Gisborne, Tuesday. George- Wootton, a telegraph messenger, was run over by a cart this afternoon and sustained serious internal injuries. A YOUNG MAN'S DEATH. Whangarei, Tuesday. The corpse of a young married settler named James Anderson was found this morning in a paddock at Maungakaramea. Death was evidently due to a gunshot wound, but whether accidental or intentional is not yet known. The police are investigating the case. Anderson some time ago was a patient at Avondale Asylum.
