FIRES.
BLAZE AT PAHIATUA. By Telegraph—Press Association. Pahiatua, Yesterday. Shortly after 1 a.m. a fire broke out in a building owned by T. C. Williams, of Wellington, and occupied by Jack Ping, Chinese fruiterer, Husband, land,' agent, and Abraham and Williams, auctioneers. It began in a sitting room afc the back of Ping's, and extended to Husband's, but was then suppressed. No damage was done to Abraham and Williams' office. The building wns insured for £850; Ping was insured for £6oo| and Husband for £75. FISHING YACHT DESTROYED. ' Timaru, June 27. The steam fishing yacht Kiaora, owned by Charles Watson, a fisherman, and E. J. Smith, caught fire in the harbor last night, and was almost completely destroyed. It was valued at about £6OO, and was insured for £225.
