FEDERAL GOVERNMENT'S INTENTIONS: By Association—Copyright Melbourne, June 27The Federal Treasurer is preparing, to issue a paper currency as soon as the necessary legislation is passed. It' is expected the new system will operate from October 1. j Government is cabling to England £65,000, the first instalment, towards the cost of the Australian cruiser battleship. The feeling in banking circles r%arding the Commonwealth note issue ia that while they may offer objections a,nd point out the risks of the systerfi, the banks must adjust themselves to circumstances. Banks do not so much importance on the issue af notes as some people imagine. Thfey will not meet the position in a chary far aggressive spirit.
