WORKERS' HOMES.
A NEW GOVERNMENT SCHEME.

The Hon. Mr. Millar announced to a deputation to-day that the Government had plans drawn up for four, five, and six-roomed houses. A worker who .desired to get an advance and have a house built would have the choice of ten or twelve designs, and he would be able to pay it off on a ibasis whioh would not mean more than a rental, at the rate of 13s to 16s .per week. (Applause.) On that basis he would lie able to purchase his own house. In concluding, Mr. Millar announced that this question and several others would be dealt with in legislation to be introduced this session. He hoped that the Bill would meet with the approval of the workers.
