SUMMARY AND FORECAST. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. Following is the Rev. D. C. Bates' Weather summary and forecast^— Barometer fell everywhere during Wednesday night, hut rose after midnight in the far south, and has been steady to-day. Very rough weather and heavy hail squalls were experienced in Foveaux Strait. Rain fell on all the western 'coast, and was heavy also in the far north. Westerly winds prevailed • and moderated to-day, with an improvement in the weather. Present indications are for a temporary rise in the barometer, Imt increasing haziness and cloudy weather (showery in parts) will probably prevail. Wind will probably go fcack by west to northerly and freshen, especially southward of New Plymouth and Napier.
