A ''{t'f.'or cable announces the ieaih o ! tie Rev. H. Grattan Guinness, D.C., a<jed seventy-five vears. The members of the local police force on Tuesday presented Mr. S. Hil] with a case of pipes, bearing the recipient's initials engraved on a silver shield. Constable Mclvor, in making the presentation, said that the members of the force had always found Mr. Hill a very obliging Justice of the Peace, and they wished to show their appreciation of his many courtesies. Mr. B. M. Molineaux, for some years past manager of the local branch of the Bank of New South Wales, is leaving Giristehureh to take charge of the Wellington branch, where he was previously manager for a period of ten years. He leaves shortly for the Empire City. He was on the Board of the McLean Institute and on the committee of the Rhodes' Convalescent Home, and in other ways Mr. Molineaux has shown a practical interest in the affairs of the city. Mr. A. Stednwm, of Napier, succeeds Mr. Mollineaux in Christchurch. Christchurch telegram.
