TARANAKI LAND BOARD.
The Land Board met yesterday, present: Messrs. F. Simpson (Commissioner of Crown Lands), J. Heslop, J. Rattenbury, J. McCluggage and W. L. Kennedy. The Commissioner welcomed Mr. Kennedy, the newly-elected member, to the Board's table, and other members jowied in their expressions of welcome, which were suitably acknowledged. The Under-Secretary for Lands notified the re-appointment of Mr. J. Rattenbury. LAND APPLIED FOR. The following applications for land, received since last meeting, were approved:—Sec. 3, blk. C, Aria, 3 acres 3 roods 31 perches, K. A. Johansen, renewable lease; sees. 66, 67, 69, blk. 4, Paritutu, 23 acres (Spotswood settlement), Mr. M. Williamson, renewable lease. TRANSFERS. Several selectors were reported to have failed to pay their rents after being notified of the Board's intention to forfeit if the amounts were not paid. The cases were considered and dealt with as follows:—W. M. Healey, explanation satisfactory; McDonald and Kerr, deferred for further enquiry; D. Favier, deferred for a month; Win. Woods, deferred for a month; E. Jennings and ,B. C. O'Dowda. if nc+ paid by the ilSth the superintendent to be notified. I FORFEITURES. E. Sathern applied to forfeit sec. 11, blk. 8, Mimi, and A. W. Van Asch applied to purchase sec. 4a, blk. 1, Kapira —Resolved, that the land be disposed of to the applicant in terms of sec. 131 of the Land Act 190 S.
