The Premier, in reply to questions, Baid tie Government had not lost sight of its declared objects of policy, and added that it was unable to include representatives of Labor and other flections of the party in the conference. Replying to Lord Norther'c, Sir C. Lucas remarked it was not ; roposed to ascertain, prior to holding an Imperial Conference, whether the self-governing colonies approve of inspection by the Commander-in-Chief of the Mediterranean. iLabor members of the House of Commons, Mr. Barnes presiding, declared Ithat the veto resolutions carried by the House admit of no modification, and therefore protested against any assumption of authority by the front benches to go behind the decision of the House.
