MR ROOSEVELT.
A LONDON PRESS OPINION. By Cable—iress Association—Copyright. Received June 20, 10.15 p.m. London, June 20. The Daily News says that Mr. Roosevelt has returned not only to the United States but clearly to public life. Naturally the master of the ceremonies was far too wise to say anything about politics or the Republican Party. Mr. Roosevelt was merely extolled as an individual. He was, in fact, the only Republican able to keep the Presidency for the party. Meantime, the managers who had brilliantly succeeded in impressing America with the fact that he is the greatest living American, have not altogether an easy task in maintaining and enhancing that ' impression over some years in expectancy. MR. ROOSEVELT AND POLITICS. Received June 20, 11.30 p.m. New York, June 20. Mr. Roosevelt's remarks, thanking Mr. Gayuoir, are interpreted as a summons t» Republican action and a pledge of his own readiness to assist. The London Times New York correspondent says it is universally recognised that Mr. Roosevelt may become a decisive factor in the present situation.
