XEWTON KING'S WEEKLY REPORT. On Thursday, the Dth inst., I held a cleaving sale on account of Mr. •!. 11. Richardson, at Riverlea. There was a big attendance of 'buyers, and the cows being in good condition and early culvers were in good demand and sold well. For the backward cows, however, of which there was a fair proportion, the demand was not so keen. Early calvers made £7 10s to £ll 15s, date do. £5 10s to £7, backward and empty cows £3 15s to £5, yearling heifers (Jersey cross) £3 4s to' £3 15s, Jersey weaners £2 His, «riute Jersey 'bulls £7 .is to £l2, yearling bulls £1 10s to £2 Gs (fcl, 3-year-old mare (unbroken) £2G. 2-vear colt £lO, 3-year colt £l4 10s. filly £O, 'brake £35, drill £2l, discs £7 .is. d.i. .plough £5, harness £4 2s fid. Furniture and sundries sold at usual rates. On Friday, 10th inst., .1 held a clearing sale on account.of Mr. L. W. Huwjler, at Eltham. The cows were a good lot and sold readily at the following rates: — Early calve'rs £7 lfls to £9 17s Gd. late do. £3 15s to £G ss, springing heifers £4 15s to £5 10s, 'bull- £B, mare £2O, 3-year filly £l4, 2-year do. £lO, dray £0 10s, .p'igs 8s (id,* sows 27s 0d to 37s Gs. Sundries sold at usual rates. At the I-Jaymar-ket on Saturday 'out few .pigs were penned, for which the following prices were realised: —Weaners 4s to lis (id, store Lis to 16s Gd. '
At Urenui on Monday steers made 335, weaner heifers 345, empty heifers £2 13s to £3 3s. store cows £2 10s to £2 15s, forward do. £3 5s to £3 12s 6d, springing cows £5 7s 6d to £7 2s Gd, springing heifers £5 2s Gd to £5 15s. 2-year steers £3 Is f!d to £4, 3-year do. £5 12s Gd, hulls £2 3s; lambs Bs. A rather small sale on Wednesday last, and prices were good in spite of the rough weather were as follows: — Bulls, £1 18s 6d to £5 7s; stores, £1 14s to £3 7s; in calf, 'heifers, £4 10s to £5 15s; spring carvers, £2 to £4 17s; empty heifers, £2 18s 6d; springing cows, £4 16s to £5 ss; calves. 27s to 36s 6dj yearling heifers, £2 15s 6d; do., steers, £2 Is Bd. OUTSIDE MARKETS. WANGANTJI. ' Messrs Dalgety and Co. report:—At Wanganui we had a good yarding of sheep and a small yarding of cattle. Sheep were in good "demand, prices for breeding ewes being (better than we have experienced for some time. A line of 1300 wethers offered on account of Mr. iH. V. Hammond realised Ms. Competition for fat cattle was veiry .keen, top prices being realised. Fat sheep—22so penned, constituting a medium yarding of fairly good quality, with odd pens of .prime ewe- ami wethers. Competition was good, and prices were much the same as last week's.
