CONSIDERABLE DAMAGE. By Cable —Press Association—Copyright. Sydney, June 17. The Government steamer Ranaaa, irom Fiji, reports a collision early this morning j with a barquehtine off Broken Bay. The' latter requires the services of a tug. The name is unstated. Received June 17, 8. 25 p.m. Sydney, June 17. The collision occurred, in the morning darkness between the Ranadi, from Fiji, and the lima, a Clarence River steamer, both being inward bound. ■ They were going full speed, and the Ranadi's stern was fractured and the bow twisted. A number of rivets were started, and this caused the opening up of seams between the plates, A quantity of water found its way below, and the pumps were used to keep the water down. The Hma was struck a sliding blow on her port side,. and her bulwarks were smashed. Some plates below the water line were badly damaged. The Ranadi stood by until the captain ascertained that the barquentine was safe, The damage to his own boat prevented him from towing her to port. j
