'Attorney-General Webb is applying for a permanent injunction in connection with the Jeffries-Johnson fight and a temporary injunction against the Kauff-mann-Langford fight arranged for 18th June. If these are granted, Tex Riekiards threatens the Governor and the Attorney-General with a claim for damage® to recover the expenditure incurred •by the contestants, who are assiduously training. State Governor Gillette within a week received 200,000 letters from religious bodies, asking him to prevent the fight. The Mayor of San Francisco states: "I've run the city. We intend to ignore the Governor. If Mr. Gillette sends the National Guardsmen to prevent the fight, we have a strong body of police." Jeffries states: "I have trained so hard that I wouldn't miss the fight even if it had to he held at Pretoria." FIGHT TO GO TO NEVADA. I .Received June 17, 11.30 p.m. San Francisco, June 17. Rickards has abandoned all hope of the fight taking place at San Francisco, and states positively that the contest will take place on 4th July, probably at Reno, Nevada.
