SUMMARY AND FORECAST. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. Following is the Rev. D. C. Bates' weather summary and forecast:—Southerly winds, strong to a heavy gale, in parts, have been experienced, with wintry weather. Snow has fallen in many parts of both Islands. The barometer has risen half an inch at the Bluff, but has fallen slightly about the East Cape. Present indications are for a rising barometer everywhere, with cold and. showery weather. Southerly winds, strong to a gale, are probable everywhere. Seas will be heavy on all the western coast and, between East Cape and Banks Peninsula. WELLINGTON WEATHER. Wellington, Last Night. The weather has been very rough today, a wild southerly gale raging continually, with heavy rain on and off. This evening there was an unusually heavy hailstorm. DUNEDIN WEATHER. Dunedin, Last Night. The weather has been very boisterous during the last two days. This morning exceptionally heavy showers fell at frequent intervals, accompanied by bitter wind. The hills surrounding the city are coated with snow.
