The ruling of Mr. Peace during the New Piymouth-Carrington Road game, when the penalty goal was awarded to New Plymouth, seemed very contrary to the expectations of the Carrington Road players. Mr. Beale's decision was correct, however. If players would only pay more attention to and read the rnles, play would be much faster and afford greater attraction to spectators.
