DISASTROUS TYPHOON.

The steamer Prince Waldemar brings news of a disastrous typhoon in the Sea of Japan last month," which did much damage to the coastal shipping and the fishing craft.
At Hongkong many vessels were lost, the death-roll being heavy. Big storms were also experienced in the Carolines and several other islands, where vessels were missing. The Prince Waldemar picked up five native castaways, who formed part of the crew of an island vessel which had toeen swept out to sea. They stated that the captain, who was the only wmte man aboard, jumped overboard and was drowned. The castaways were for eight days without food, and suffered terrible privations.
