At King George's first Court at St. James', replying to the Lord Mayor and the Corporation of the City of London for their address, King George said he hoped to continue King Edward's efforts ■to consolidate the foundation of peace amongst the Powers and to promote the spirit of goodwill among all classes of his subjects.
