FALL OF EARTH
FATE OF THE SECOND MAX. By Telegraph—Press Association. Wellington, Yesterday. A large gang of men are still engaged removing the earth and rock wliich overwhelmed John Wilson and James Phillips in a cutting at Miramar yesterday. About noon to-day Phillips' body was seen doubled up under some heavy beams, and it is expected that three hours' more work will be necessary before it can bo got out. Deceased has left a widow and three! children. Wilson is doing fairly well in the hosnitak PHILLIPS' BODY RECOVERED. Wellington. Last Night. The body of Phillips, who was buried 1 by the fall of earth at Miramar. was recovered at 3 o'clock. Tt is considered he was killed immediately' when the fall of earth took place yesterday afternoon. He leaves a widow and three children.
